ICYMI: Mayor Chaz Molder Joined Former Congressman John Tanner in Union City on Friday, May 29, 2026
COLUMBIA, TN: On Friday, May 29th, Columbia Mayor and Candidate for Tennessee’s Fifth Congressional District Chaz Molder joined former Congressman John Tanner in Union City, TN. At Kiwanis Park, Congressman Tanner expressed his full endorsement and support of Molder’s campaign.
Molder and Tanner were joined by Union City Mayor Terry Hailey and Ripley Mayor Craig Fitzhugh.
“Having been married to a Ripley, TN native and the special place in my heart that this area holds, I never imagined I would have an opportunity to represent rural West Tennessee in Congress,” said Mayor Chaz Molder. “I couldn’t be more excited and I am so appreciative of Congressman John Tanner’s endorsement and support. He served his country through military service and congressional service. He represented his home area with distinction and never forgot where he came from. He’s the kind of Congressman I am striving to be.”
Following the recent redrawing of Tennessee’s congressional maps, the 5th Congressional District now includes parts of Maury, Williamson, Montgomery, Tipton, and Shelby counties and all of Lewis, Hickman, Humphreys, Benton, Houston, Stewart, Henry, Weakley, Obion, Lake, Dyer, and Lauderdale counties.
