Molder relaunches TN-5 Congress bid, says voters ‘deserve a choice’

Molder called new Republican-drawn maps “an unprecedented attack on the voters of Tennessee for pure political advantage.” Molder has raised $2 million since September, dwarfing Ogles’ $80,000 haul.

Despite a redrawn congressional map that shifted Tennessee’s 5th District to an almost entirely different part of the state, Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder relaunched his bid for District 5 on May 14.

Molder is the leading Democrat challenging two-term Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Columbia.

“It may be a new map, but Tennesseans deserve to have a choice and a chance to elect real leadership to Congress this November,” Molder said.
