Mayor Chaz Molder Relaunches Campaign for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District

COLUMBIA, TN: Mayor Chaz Molder announced today he is relaunching his campaign for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District. This recommitment to the people of Tennessee follows Molder’s decision to join a lawsuit challenging the latest attempt to silence the voices of Tennessee voters.

Mayor Chaz Molder:

“The last few weeks we’ve witnessed an unprecedented attack on the voters of Tennessee for pure political advantage. They changed the rules in the middle of the game. It’s undemocratic. And it’s wrong. But the mission remains clear. It’s time to restore some common sense to our politics. It’s time to show voters the respect they deserve.

That’s why I’m still running in Tennessee’s 5th district, whether the new maps withstands court challenges or not. Andy Ogles has proven time and time again that he will put Andy Ogles first, not his constituents. In Congress, I’ll put Tennessee and my country first. It may be a new map, but Tennesseans deserve to have a choice and a chance to elect real leadership to Congress this November.”

About the Redrawn 5th Congressional District:

Following the redrawing of Tennessee’s congressional maps, the 5th Congressional District now includes parts of Maury, Williamson, Montgomery, Tipton, and Shelby counties and all of Lewis, Hickman, Humphreys, Benton, Houston, Stewart, Henry, Weakley, Obion, Lake, Dyer, and Lauderdale counties.
